Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 October 2026
In short. We collect only what we need to understand your matter and come back to you: your name, contact details, city and whatever you choose to tell us about the dispute. We do not sell your data. We do not share your documents with the other side. You can ask us to delete what we hold at any time by writing to support@grivaalegal.com.
1. Who this policy covers
This policy applies to www.grivaalegal.com and to the enquiries sent to Grivaa Legal through this website, WhatsApp, email or telephone. Grivaa Legal is a legal strategy and documentation support service. It is not a law firm and does not appear before courts or tribunals; where representation is required, it is handled by independent qualified professionals.
2. What we collect
| Category | Examples | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Identity and contact | Name, phone or WhatsApp number, email, city | To reply to your enquiry and to identify your file |
| Matter details | Practice area, stage, amount involved, key dates, your description of the dispute | To assess the deadline, the forum and the documents needed |
| Documents you send | Agreements, bank memos, ledgers, notices, correspondence | To review the evidence position before anything is advised or filed |
| Technical data | IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, referring page | Security and website analytics — only after you accept analytics cookies |
We do not ask for, and request that you do not send, government identification numbers, card or bank account numbers, or passwords through the website form.
3. Why we may process it
- Your consent, given when you submit the enquiry form or tick the consent box. You may withdraw it at any time.
- Performance of an engagement, where you have asked us to work on your matter.
- Legal obligation, where a law or a court or tribunal order requires disclosure.
4. Who sees it
- Grivaa Legal personnel working on your matter.
- Independent advocates, chartered accountants or other professionals engaged for your matter, where you have asked us to involve them.
- Service providers who host the website and run our customer-enquiry system, under obligations of confidentiality.
- Courts, tribunals or authorities, where disclosure is legally required.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal data, and we do not share your documents with an opposing party, builder or their representatives.
5. How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become engagements are kept for up to 24 months and then deleted. Files for accepted matters are kept for the duration of the engagement and for up to 8 years afterwards, which reflects limitation periods and the possibility of appeal or review. You can ask for earlier deletion, except where we are required to retain a record.
6. Cookies and analytics
Essential cookies make the website work, including remembering your light or dark theme choice. Separately, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read. Analytics does not run until you accept it on the consent banner, and you can change your choice at any time using the link. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and no analytics data is sent.
7. Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the rules made under it, you may ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you and who it has been shared with;
- correct or complete anything inaccurate;
- erase personal data that is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected for;
- withdraw a consent you previously gave; and
- nominate another person to exercise these rights in the event of your death or incapacity.
Write to support@grivaalegal.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
